Sea Doo VS Supercharged PLUS Review

Sea-Doo VS Supercharged Sea Scooter43PERFORMANCE:

Unlike some other low-end Sea Doo diver propulsion vehicles, this is not a toy for a pool. This model comes with a two-level variable speed control and can reach a speed of 3 miles per hour (mph) on its fastest setting. This top speed is slightly more than what is offered in some of the more inexpensive sea scooters on the market. The sea scooter has a speed adjustment trigger on the left handle and the power switch on the right handle, but to adjust the speed you need to simultaneously press both triggers. This can be a bit annoying during the dive since both your hands are busy on the scooter. It can make it a little difficult to maneuver with one hand. It’s still a very nice design and easy to use though once in the water, if you weight the buoyancy chamber correctly it’s pretty much neutral-slightly negative. As this is a budget DPV, it may be a bit difficult to reach the top speed level if you are pulling a lot of weight. However, the DPV performed reasonably well to help propel an adult diver in strong currents. Although it should not be used for anything else, but going in a straight line below the surface.

Sea-Doo VS Supercharged Sea Scooter3DEPTH / ENDURANCE:

With a battery run time of 1.5 hours this makes the VS Plus a big performer in a tiny package. It is definitely not a scooter that will please veteran divers who need a little more functionality from their underwater propulsion vehicles. With a depth rating of down to 100ft./30m this scooter will fit most entry level scuba divers perfect for their first scooter. The weight is good since this DPV is a relatively light 18 pounds. On the other hand, the light weight is because some materials used are less expensive compared to higher quality models. You will find the material used for the body, switches and handles seems adequate. Do not expect the underwater propulsion device to last you more than a handful of years, some top-end models can last up to 20 years. It’s lighter weight makes it a great device to use if you are on a beach dive, because you won’t be lugging around heavy unit.

POWER:

The included battery is a 12 volt rechargeable lead acid battery that comes complete with a charger included. The run time listed on the specifications is 90 minutes which seems to be pretty accurate from our typical numbers that we have seen with this sea scooter.

SAFETY FEATURES:

Other details include a durable waterproof construction that prevents accidental flooding of electrical circuitry. It now features a reinforced nose cone that protects the body from rough handling during transport and in rough environments. It’s equipped with an automatic motor cut off that shuts the unit down when released or encounters an obstruction. It also has an adjustable buoyancy chamber system that lets you tweak the buoyancy to meet your particular needs by adding weights to it. >> Current Pricing on the Sea Doo VS Supercharged PLUS Sea Scooter.
